5 Things I've Learned From Living in a Hotel

When you think of staying in a hotel, you think of vacation, fun, and possibly luxury. Well, let me change your mind about that. HAHAHAHA!!!!

On July 12th, we had to leave our house. That means that we are 18 nights of sleeping at a hotel. I want to share with you a few things that I have learned over these past few weeks.

LIVING IN A HOTEL ROOM TAUGHT ME...

#1. There is nothing like a home-cooked meal. Oh, how I miss my own cooking. Sorry Airdrie restaurants, nothing against you but I am oh so sick of you.

#2. Personal space is a must. Having 5 of us in a hotel room with 2 queen beds has not been fun. Luckily there has only been 1 major blow out but life will go on. I can’t wait to go home and have my own living space again.

#3. There is nowhere to hide. I have an almost 3-year-old who is extremely clingy. She finds me wherever I go. It has been 18 nights of little sleep. This mama needs a hotel room for herself.

#4. 3 kids are NOT meant to share a bed. Well since we are down to 2 beds, that means that the kids are supposed to be sharing a bed. That is all fun and games until there is nothing but screaming and fighting because 1 of them is touching another, 1 has all the blankets, and 1 won’t stop moving. Oh, the joys.

#5. Sex life. What does that even mean? Well, it is now completely nonexistent. Nothing kills the mood more than 3 kids in the same room. HAHA!!! Did I already mention how excited I am to be going back into our home soon? I really really hope that it is soon.

Hotel living ain’t for the weak. How many days have been the most that you have spent in a hotel room? How did you keep your sanity? Asking for a desperate mama of 3.
