11 Blogging Tips

I think that there comes a point when we all need some tips to continue with blogging. Even the most dedicated bloggers have struggled. Here are blogging tips that have helped me throughout the years.

BLOGGING TIPS TO HELP YOU WITH BLOGGING

Get ideas from your audience. This is such a simple idea but will really help you to connect to your audience even more. Watch what they say to you in the comments. What are they talking about? Use these to your advantage. This will keep your readers engaged.

Be yourself. Your readers are reading your words because they connect with you. They love who you are and how you speak through your writing. Don’t try to imitate someone else. Your readers will notice and they will stop connecting with you and leave. Be yourself. Show them who you are.

Write for you. As every blogger will tell you, they want the numbers. It’s a numbers game but I am telling you to throw that out the window. Write for yourself. Write to get your emotions out and your beliefs out. This will not only showcase who you truly are but you will gain a loyal following.

Be consistent. A blog following isn’t built overnight. It takes time and dedication. It takes consistency that not everyone is up for. Be consistent on your own terms. Whether that means once a week, 3 times a week, or once a month. Do what you know you can do. You can always revise how much you post when you know what works within your life.

Be a guest blogger. It is hard putting yourself out there in front of your own readers but it can be even harder to put yourself out there for someone else’s readers. The gain on this is huge. You will reach a new audience. You will gain traction in your field of expertise. Share your words with the world. They are out there waiting for you.

Give it time. Like I said above, building a blog is not an overnight success. It will take months and months of dedication. Keep writing. If you are doing #3 then this won’t be hard.

Write catchy headlines. This is the time when you can capture your readers’ attention. Be creative. There are many tools out there that can help you with titles as well. Here is one that I have used in the past.

Use other tools to help. Every profession has tools that they use to help them in their chosen field. So find what works for you. There are a few that I use daily. If you want to check them out, read my blog post, 5 Tools I use daily as a blogger.

Just start. The hardest part of everything is just beginning and that is the same for blogging. Stop overthinking. Stop asking if anyone is going to read it. Just write. Write because you love to write. Write because it will benefit your business.

Plan ahead. Keep a planner where you can stay organized as a blogger. Create a calendar where you write down what your posts are going to be for the week, month, or even more. Yesterday’s post with the 12 blogging topics can help if you want to create further ahead. Looking for a great blogging planner. Sign up for my email list and get yours for FREE. Use it as often you like. Once you have it, you have it for life!!

Forget stats. Yes, I said it. Don’t pay attention to your stats or they take up too much space in your head. You will let them get to you and you will let them affect your writing. Don’t let the numbers affect how you blog. Keep writing and those numbers will improve.
