This book had me hooked from the first page I read. I wanted to know more. I wanted insider knowledge. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in 2 days. The top of the book cover says it all, no one ever just disappears.
Have you ever heard of the show Pretty Little Liars? That is what this book reminded me of. You think you know the characters and with every new page turn, you slowly begin to realize that there is so much more to the story. All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda had me falling in love with certain characters and creating villains out of other ones. Deeds of the past no longer remain hidden. The past always finds a way to resurface.
This book was written like no other I have read. It started on day1, went to day 15, and then backtracked until it was back at the beginning. Things happened that kept you turning the pages for more. At first, it was a bit confusing to read a book this way but by the end it all made sense.
I felt a connection to Nicolette, one of the main characters. She felt relatable and down to Earth. She made you want to confide in her. She left her hometown 10 years prior to escape; for a better life. She felt that she had found it.
Going home wasn’t what she wanted to do but her father needed her. Just like her father, the small town pulled her back in and she was living out what had happened 10 years prior when her best friend, Corinne disappeared. Another girl disappeared shortly after Nicolette had returned home and all the trauma, emotions, and memories came rushing back in.
The title had me thinking that there were many girls that disappeared but there are only two.
This book will have you second-guessing yourself through the whole thing. You will be shocked when you realize what truly happened. I thought I knew what had happened and it turns out, I was so wrong.
If you enjoy thrillers this is a book that you need to pick up and submerse yourself in
