Tips to Create Blog Content

When we start a blog, we want ALL the people to come and read it. We tell those closest to us to read it. You share it with all of your social media. You can’t hide the excitement you have for your new endeavour

. You have readers that come at first and then you notice that they begin to dwindle a little bit. Your family no longer comes to read your posts. Your friends are starting to ignore your posting.

HOW DO YOU KEEP READERS COMING BACK?

Your content is what keeps them coming back to read post after post. There are so many ways to create content that your readers will love. Earlier this week we talked about reinventing the content that you have created. Now we are going to talk about how to create quality content to keep those readers coming back for more.

TIPS TO CREATE BLOG CONTENT

More than likely, if you are writing a blog, you are writing about topics that you are passionate about. And if you aren’t, then you need to change the thought process on what you are writing about and figure it out. Your readers will know if you are writing about something that doesn’t light a fire inside of you. You will sound fake and that is one way to lose all of your readerships.

Even if you are passionate about what you are writing about and you are the expert, it is still a great idea to research the topic that you are writing about. This allows you to continue to learn about your topic as well as giving your readers the most recent information.

Researching other websites and topics related to your niche also allows you to see what other experts in your area are talking about, how they are talking about, and if it is working. Don’t rely too heavily on what is working for the other experts. Remember that we all have something different to offer to our readers.

Be yourself. Your audience will still want to hear personal stories. How can you incorporate stories into your blog post? Giving real-life examples in your blog content will help you to create a connection. Not only a connection but your readers will be able to see the why of the advice you are giving or the how-to. Your readers are on your blog to learn something. They want YOU to be their teacher.

The delivery to your audience is important. The type of blog post that you write, the tone that you use, and the way that you deliver that content. Brainstorm different ways to provide that information to your audience. Try and think of a unique angle to share. Be creative with your blog and your readers will want to keep coming back to learn more. You don’t need to be the only one who does the brainstorming. Ask some friends. Ask your readers.

Sometimes creating content means walking away from the computer. Getting creative means allowing yourself to focus on something else. Go for a walk, do some yoga, or try to take a nap. Changing up your routine will allow your body and mind will add a bit of excitement to your world.

Knowing your audience means that you can speak to them in a language that they understand. So for me, I work with beginner bloggers. I work with women who aren’t technological and I have to speak to them in ways that they will understand. Now if I was working with women who have already established a blog, my language would change. This allows me to teach women without confusing or overwhelming them. If your reader feels overwhelmed or confused, they will leave. You don’t want that to happen.

At the end of the day, these are just tips. Some may work for you while others won’t. If you are a beginner blogger, it will take time to figure some of these out. You won’t 100% know who your ideal readers are. I know that my ideal reader has changed over the years and that is okay.

Remember to be willing to learn or your blog will stagnate. You don’t need to worry about creating brand new content. Everything has been talked about in some capacity. Put your own unique spin on the content that you are creating and you will be successful. Blogging isn’t an overnight success. It takes dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn.
